
DDU-GKY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana)
DDU-GKY is a flagship skill development and placement initiative by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India, launched on 25 September 2014. It aims to transform rural poor youth into a skilled, economically independent, and globally employable workforce as part of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM).
The program targets rural youth aged 15–35 years, especially from BPL (Below Poverty Line) households, providing them with free training, certification, and assured placement assistance across various sectors.
Since 2016, ASMACS Skill Development Limited (ASDLT) has successfully trained 12,090 candidates under DDU-GKY, achieving a remarkable 78% placement rate in India and abroad.
